  • Jalil Muntaqim

    Released from prison to parole on 10/6/2020, after being confined for almost 5 decades, Jalil is a veteran member of the Black Panther Party and the Black Liberation Army, & the co-founder of the National Jericho Movement to Free All Political Prisoners.

    Jalil is the author of “We Are Our Own Liberators”, “Escaping the Prism - Fade to Black” and his essays have been published in several books, magazines and newspapers.

    Presently, he works as the Special Projects Coordinator for Citizen Action of New York, in Rochester, New York. Jalil is organizing on the behalf of 13th Forward campaign to end penal slavery in New York State.

  • Matt Meyer

    Matt Meyer is an internationally noted historian, orator, and organizer who serves as Secretary-General of the International Peace Research Association. Meyer is the Senior Research Scholar of the University of Massachusetts/Amherst’s Resistance Studies Initiative, active also with the International Fellowship of Reconciliation and the War Resisters’ International.

    The author/editor of over a dozen books, Meyer’s work focuses on African Peace Studies; 21st Century Decolonization; the Strategies and Tactics of Movement-building; and Political Prisoners and the Abolition of White Supremacy.

  • SEKOU ODINGA

    Sekou Odinga, founding member of the Spirit of Mandela (SoM), New Afrikan Muslim, early member of Malcolm X’s Organization of Afro-American Unity (OAAU), veteran member of the Black Panther Party/Black Liberation Army, and for 33 years, a US Political Prisoner of War.

    He co-founded both the New York-Harlem-Bronx chapter of the Black Panther Party, & the international section in Algiers, North Afrika before his October 1981 capture. Released from prison in November 2014, he founded the Northeast Political Prisoner Coalition (NEPPC). He has spoken at colleges/universities on behalf of his still imprisoned comrades and the Black Freedom Struggle, interviewed extensively in print, radio, media and film. His writings have been published in numerous journals/anthologies.

  • YASMEEN MAJID

    Yasmeen Majid, veteran Panther, Mother & Granddmother. Member of the Corona BPP office, a subsection of the Jamaica Chapter of the Black Panther Party in New York, Majid also is a member of the Black Panther Commemoration Committee and the National Alumni Association of the BPP. She worked 18 years with the Greenhope Services for Women, one of the most comprehensive programs for women transitioning back home from the prison system.
