women united against genocide

MISSION

A number of women from the International Tribunal have begun meeting to have discussions about the forms of oppression that particularly impact women, including the struggle against patriarchy in all communities. Issues such as the lowest rungs of poverty, unequal and inadequate pay, lack of affordable childcare, women missing from their communities, formerly and presently incarcerated women, violence against women, women’s leadership and other issues should be brought forward.

We are reaching out to women from the various oppressed national communities to join our Women’s Committee and give guidance as to which women’s issues are most important to be raised from each community as well as contribute to the struggle for women’s rights.

I have witnessed the strength of women to face and transcend fear, to speak out and to seek justice. While all around us the world may be full of violence and uncertainty, the voices and the hearts of women are weapons for breaking impunity.
